Fashion from the Röhsska Museum’s collection

Utforska modehistorien genom en specialvisning av den rika samling av föremål som speglar både hantverk, konsumtion och förändrade ideal.

The exhibition showcases fashion garments, accessories and fashion images from the last 150 years. The museum’s collection contains many fashion objects, from early French fashion posters where current trends were illustrated, to contemporary examples of overproduction in fashion and the new e-commerce companies in ultra-fast fashion.

This tour is led by curator Josefin Kilner, who will talk about fashion, both as an everyday object and as art.

We will look at the pleated classic silk dress Delphos and accessories such as handbags, shoes and fashion jewelry by Christian Dior. In the tour we also explore Buzigahill’s collection Return to sender with second-hand clothes dumped in Uganda, that are being re-exported to the Global North.
