Modedagarna: Workshop – Skapa fickor!

Välkomna på en workshop där du lär dig skapa fickor! Genom samtal och kreativt skapande undersöker workshopen vikten av fickor och bärande. Vilken ficka behöver man för vilka saker, och hur har fickor fungerat och sett ut i olika tider?

In this pocket-making workshop, you will embark on a journey to discover the simplicity and creativity of crafting your pockets – together with textile designer Ainhoa Cortés.

At the start of the session, you will get a presentation on the historical significance of pockets as versatile tools that have existed both inside and outside of clothing.

Next, you will have the opportunity to imagine an object you’d like to carry in your pocket and sketch a design for it. With the help of pre-designed patterns, you will create your pocket, select the materials, cut the fabric, and bring your pocket to life by sewing it together.

This event is part of the Röhsska Fashion Days 2025.

Ainhoa Cortés, is a textile designer educated at the Swedish School of Textiles, and a fashion designer with a keen interest in textiles, including their creation, history, and

social impact, is currently working in her Design Master thesis titled ”Carrying Culture” at HDK-Valand, where she examines the historical context of carrying objects.
