Valhelmland: Design Therapy

Vad säger våra materiella begär och vår längtan efter saker om oss? Formgivaren och forskaren Márton Zalka bjuder in till Design Therapy, där han nystar upp berättelserna och värderingarna bakom de föremål vi omger oss med.
In the context of his project Mirage, Márton Zalka is inviting visitors to have a (recorded) conversation about their material desires. What new objects/products do they desire to have in their lives? Why do they want them, where does the desire come from and what are they expecting from said objects?
Unfolding the complex dynamics of consumerism’s artificially generated desires. After we have unfolded and removed these desires from their object, we can address them and try to find new, more sustainable and circular incarnations for them. After the sessions the visitors will be invited to attach a piece of scavenged material as a symbol for their user journey to a small raft.
Design in Gesellschaft (Ding) is a Vienna-based atelier and Offspace for design – exploring the many social, critical, and interdisciplinary roles design can play in our society and future.
Ding will be present in the Röhsska museum between June-August. For more information and similar events, visit Ding.
No prior registration required.
The activity will be held in english.
