Symposium: Multisensory Innovations

Symposiet Beyond Boundaries – Multisensory Innovations for Inclusive Futures erbjuder inspirerande föreläsningar, presentationer och en unik musikföreställning som utforskar kulturell tillgänglighet, medskapande och multisensoriskt engagemang.
For nearly three years of collaboration, creativity, and technological innovation, the EU-funded MuseIT project is coming to its conclusion — and we warmly invite you to join us for a two-day celebration of the exciting outcomes of the project first-hand.
Taking place across two venues — Högskolan i Borås (Day 1) and the Röhsska Museum of Design and Craft (Day 2) — this special event brings together researchers, cultural professionals, artists, technologists, policymakers, and people with lived experience of disability to explore and celebrate the project’s outcomes.
The symposium Beyond Boundaries – Multisensory Innovations for Inclusive Futures is a celebration of what’s possible when technology, creativity, and inclusivity come together to transform cultural access. Over two engaging days, participants will:
– Discover cutting-edge technologies developed throughout the project, designed to broaden access to cultural heritage and the arts.
– Experience hands-on demonstrations of these tools, from immersive environments to multisensory interfaces — all created with and for diverse users.
– Engage in inspiring talks and performances that highlight the power of co-creation and inclusive design.
– Take part in a policy roundtable, where we will present MuseIT’s policy recommendations for accessible and inclusive cultural futures.
– Connect with a diverse community of thinkers, makers, and doers passionate about building a culture that truly includes everyone.
Whether you’re a researcher working in cultural technologies, a representative from a museum or arts organisation, a policymaker shaping accessibility frameworks, or someone with lived experience of disability — this symposium is for you. You’ll have the opportunity to:
– Be among the first to explore MuseIT’s final results, including practical tools and novel approaches for inclusive culture.
– Experience inclusive innovation first-hand, not just as a topic of discussion, but as something tangible, immersive, and impactful.
– Share ideas and build future collaborations with others committed to cultural inclusion.
– Contribute to the conversation on how policy, technology, and the arts can align to broaden access and participation in meaningful and sustainable ways.
MuseIT is an EU-funded research and innovation project dedicated to enhancing cultural accessibility and inclusion. Since 2022, project partners across Europe have been developing technologies and methodologies that help make culture more accessible and enjoyable for everyone — regardless of sensory, cognitive, or physical differences.
At the heart of MuseIT is a belief in co-creation, inclusive design, and digital equity. By working directly with users and cultural stakeholders, the project has developed tools that not only remove barriers but open up new creative possibilities for engaging with cultural content.
Book your spot via the button that reads ”BOKA”. The program is included in the museum admission ticket. Drop-in available subject to space.
