The fashion and textile industry is going through a transformation where sustainable and circular practices are urgently needed. How does this transition affect tomorrow’s fashion designers?
We invite you to mingle and listen to a panel talk connected to Röhsskas permanent exhibition Design Stories. The panel will spotlight the potential and challenges fashion designers and entrepreneurs working with circular business models in fashion and textile are facing in an era of change for an entire industry. The Textile movement talent project supports talents and entrepreneurs in the fashion and textile industry, for a digital and circular transition in the Västra Götaland region.The initiative aims to identify, support and develop talents who are experts in their field and has the potential to contribute to circular solutions for the fashion and textile industries in Sweden and internationally.
Speakers:
Bella Simmons, Fashion designer, one of the founders of the Gothenburg-based brand Hurra Pang Pang, specializing in circular design and upcycling using “textile waste” in their practices.
Waxiu Shehu, Fashion designer, tailor and founder of the repair studio Studio234+ specializing in tailoring, small scale collections, repair and amendment services.
Linnea Magnusdotter, Creative Director, designer and one of the founders of XV production, a micro-factory based in Borås with expertise in remake production and processes.
Moderator: Nana Sacko, Project manager Textile Movement Talent.
