Join us for the opening of Ilona Sagar: Omsorgens arkitektur at the Röhsska Museum.
How does architecture shape our health and well-being? Building on Ilona Sagar’s immersive film installation Other Actors (2025), the exhibition explores the links between bodies, health, and architecture through the lens of Aino and Alvar Aalto’s tuberculosis sanatorium in Paimio, Finland. Together with some twenty design objects and archival material from the sanatorium, the exhibition offers a deeper insight into one of the Nordic region’s most acclaimed modernist buildings. The exhibition takes its title, Omsorgens arkitektur, from the Swedish word omsorg, referring to an attentive and holistic approach to care.
The opening begins at 13:00 with welcome remarks by artist Ilona Sagar, Museum Director Nina Due and curator Olivia Berkowicz. Refreshments and mingling will follow.
At 14.30-15.00, Ilona Sagar and Olivia Berkowicz will lead an exclusive guided tour. The artist Flis Holland will introduce their collaboration with Sagar on the Paimio chair audio piece in the exhibition.
Warmly welcome!
