The Röhsska Museum´s collection
The Röhsska Museum’s collection comprises some 50 000 artefacts from the areas of design, craft, and fashion. The majority of the objects are older Swedish and European artefacts, but there are also Greek and Roman antiques as well as pieces from Japan and China. The Chinese collection is one of Europe’s oldest museum collections with artefacts dating back 4500 years.
Collecting artefacts for the collection is an important part of the museum’s work to preserve the knowledge of our collective design history - both for this generation and others to come.
Search the collection
More than 10 000 of the artefacts in the Röhsska Museum’s collection are accessible via the museum’s digital online catalogue Search the collection. The online catalogue presents basic facts on the objects such as author/artist, title, date, acquisition details and sometimes exhibition history and references to literature. Here you will find the various collections and disciplines which are divided into: glass, ceramics, book art, East Asia, fashion, furniture, etc. Text is available in both English and Swedish.
We are constantly working on digitising and adding new artefacts to the online catalogue which may lead to some information being incomplete or outdated.
