Box Summer Studio Festival

Like a festival within a festival Box Summer Studio stages an intimate performance for two days in the courtyard of the Röhsska Museum. The studio moves in the interface between design, art, dance and architecture.

Box Summer Studio Festival takes place in and around a temporary glowing tent construction in the courtyard of the Röhsska Museum. The members of the studio investigate the performance as a format and a situation and experiments with the interaction between separate performances and objects. The festival is at the same time a collective process where the different members work together taking stand from the place itself. The Box summer Studio Festival is available for the public on two different occasions.

The Box Summer Studio creates interchanges and collaborations between participants from different areas within art, design, architecture and dance. This year Box summer Studio has invited postgraduate and director Linn Hilda Lamberg and artist and curator Maja Hammarén as inspirers and workshopsleaders. The Box Summer Studio by artist Gustav Lejelind and curator Henrik Sputnes and is a collaboration between Galleri Box and HDK – Academy of Design and Crafts.

Kindly note that there is a limited access to the courtyard. The courtyard is not availability adapted which means that the museum not usually have public events here. During the Gothenburg design festival, we make a temporary exception for Box summer Studio festival´s program activity Wednesday October 9th at 15 – 18 h and Thursday October 10th at 15 – 20 h. Unfortunately we are not able to offer wheelchairs and strollers access to the yard during these occasions due to evacuation and accessibility reasons. We are sorry for this.
