Embroider every day, tape for hours, and let the rhythm of the music determine the shape. In Kulturlabbet’s installation, creative expression is set free, and the result is a big portion of art!
Stor portion features works by eleven artists from Kulturlabbet, a daily activity in Biskopsgården. Here, the artists’ own interests and passions have guided both the themes and motifs. We encounter Agnetha Fältskog transformed into a clown, mushroom queens, and a declaration of love for Skagen painting.
Kulturlabbet – Who are they?
Kulturlabbet is an artistic daily activity center for visual, performing, and literary artists with intellectual disabilities. The mission of the daily activity is to provide meaningful engagement based on each individual’s specific abilities and circumstances.
Kulturlabbet has always viewed its mission as working towards a more integrated cultural arena where artists with intellectual disabilities are given equal space as artists. Since 2001, Kulturlabbet has contributed to broadening, enriching, and deepening the city’s cultural scene with photo and art exhibitions, innovative performing arts, pop music, textile design, and poetry.
Stor portion is on display from November 9th to January 12th in Super Ö – a part of the Design Stories exhibition.
